Master's

The Master's program "EU Studies" is a two-year program in international relations and has been implemented at TSU since September 2008. The objective of this program is to train highly professional specialists in international relations with in–depth knowledge of the European Union and relations between Russia and the EU. The program is academic, and is aimed at developing students' analytical skills.

he long-term partner of the program is the Free University of Brussels (SUB) (Université Libre de Bruxelle), with which TSU realized a double degree program in 2008-2018. In 2017-2019, according to the Erasmus+ program, three students completed a semester internship at the SUB. Since 2019, the inter-university agreement on academic exchange without obtaining a degree has been in effect.

The program develops cooperation with leading European and Russian centers and provides students with the opportunity to participate in various events with partners.

Master's degree program includes the following disciplines:

  1. Compulsory courses on the theory and practice of modern international relations: World Politics and Global Problems; Russian Foreign Policy; Analysis of International Situations and others.
  2. Language training:
    • English, 4 hours a week (compulsory course);;
    • French or German (a second foreign language as an optional or campus course);
    • Russian language (compulsory course) for international students.
  3. Specialization courses:
    1. Compulsory courses: History of European Integration, Institutions of the European Union, Economic and Monetary Integration in Europe, Social Europe, EU Regional Policy and European Regionalism.
    2. Elective courses: Russia and the European Union, International and European Human Rights Policy; EU Enlargement; Common Foreign and Security Policy; Development Policy, European Integration and Transatlantic Relations, etс.
  4. Traineeships: scientific-pedagogical and reserch traineeships
  5. Master's thesis.
