Annual conference on EU
The Jean Monnet Center of Excellence will organize annual academic conference with participation of regional and international scholars with special section for young researchers. Scholars, educators and general public from the region and Europe will be able to participate in the events, to present their research and to discuss actual issues of EU politics and youth politics.
The first Youth Science Conference was organized at Tomsk State University on 14 April-16 April 2016. The conference was part of annual all-Russia conference for young scientists organized at TSU. There were about 20 participants from Tomsk, Novosibirsk, Kemerovo, Irkutsk, St.Petersburg and Altai universities. Before the conference theses of participants were published. Within the conference a round table on “International academic mobility of students and young scientists” was organized. Participants of the conference received certificates.
Annual Summer School on European Youth
The Jean Monnet Center of Excellence will organize annual Summer Scholl for students of various specializations and universities. It will bring young people to learn about young people in Europe, their life and problems.
The first Summer School will take place on 22-26 of June 2016 at TSU. Students will learn about young people in Europe during 3-4 days International Summer School that will be organized by the Jean Monnet Center of excellence and the Research Center of International Organizations and Networks.
Webinars and guest lectures on EU and youth
A series of webinars will be organized to present and to discuss the issue of young people in Europe, their life and problems. EU politics towards young people will be specifically addressed. European universities will be invited to participate.
The Jean Monnet Center of Excellence organized a lecture of Professor Maurizio Cotta from the University of Siena, Italy, on the topic “Italy in the EU. The big crises challenges”. Professor Cotta is a Director Centre for the Study of Political Change (CIRCaP), Director PhD in Political Science and European Politics and International Relations.
