International Summer School at Tomsk State University

July 2-5, Jean Monnet Center of Excellence hold an International Summer School "Higher Education and Academic Mobility of Youth in Modern Integration Processe" for students, graduates and young scientists from Bishkek, Yekaterinburg, Irkutsk, Kemerovo, Novosibirsk, Omsk, Tomsk and Khanty-Mansiysk. For three days  participants took part in an intensive course of lectures and  project activities.

The experts of the school became Artem Balyakin - head of the scientific and technical programs department from "Kurchatov Institute" (Moscow), Aigerim Ospanova - head of the regional studies department from Eurasian National University (Astana, Kazakhstan), Larisa Deriglazova  - professor of the World Politic department from Tomsk State University, Sergey Miroshnikov - associate professor of the World Politic department from Tomsk State University and Sergei Yun - associate professor of the World Politic department from Tomsk State University, 

Opening ceremony of Summer School was attended by TSU Vice-rector of International Relations - A.Yu. Rykun and Dean of the TSU History Department - E.V. Lukov.

During the school participants and experts managed to discuss such issues as international integration in higher education sphere, opportunities of academic mobility and contemporary integration associations.

Significant part of the time participants devoted to the project groups, where they were creating a model of “University of the Future”. Students specifically concentrated on three important areas such as labor market, international academic mobility and university in the world educational space. Based on the results of the project work, participants managed to formulate a number of recommendations on improving the effectiveness of the university in these aspects.

The results of this creative work are expected to be published in a reference book of Jean Monnet Center for Excellence. The co-organizer of the school was scientific laboratory of TSU - Center for International Organizations and Network Structures (CIIMOS). Both centers have experience in organizing such events for young researchers. Earlier they already held an International Summer School "Youth of Europe: Education, Work, Leisure" (June 22-26, 2016), and also participated in the organization of a number TSU events, including an International Scientific Conference "Youth of Europe and Russia" (April 24-26, 2017).
